Faculty Development

We believe that the knowledge and experiences gained by our faculty determine the overall success of our ÇÑ×ÓÎÛÎÛÊÓƵs. Therefore, we are committed to developing a robust mentoring program for new faculty and a summer grant school to strengthen faculty research grant applications. As our faculty members grow their expertise and contribute to their fields of research, they are taking that experience back into the classroom which benefits our ÇÑ×ÓÎÛÎÛÊÓƵs.

Interdisciplinary Academics

We want to increase opportunities for innovation by expanding interprofessional education, exploring new degree options, and incorporating more research and community partnerships. This will allow for greater collaboration among ÇÑ×ÓÎÛÎÛÊÓƵs from different disciplines and provide more real-world experiences that will better prepare our ÇÑ×ÓÎÛÎÛÊÓƵs for giving back in their careers.

Underrepresentation of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and women in economics is even more pronounced than in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). A grant-winning project by St. ÇÑ×ÓÎÛÎÛÊÓƵ University faculty in the Economics and Political Science Department is working to remedy this.
